THIS WEEK AT HYPEROID - 14/04/2023

This Week At Hyperoid, we get busy playing.

TL;DR

The Project Eris demo has been released to both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store! If you have tried the demo out already, please do remember to give feedback if you can, it would help a lot. The best way to do this would be to just simply leave a rating and review on the individual store listings. A trailer for the demo was released, go check it out! Later into this post I will be talking about what will happen over the next few weeks.

Demo Has Been Released!

The Project Eris demo has been released to both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store! If you haven’t already, go check out the trailer for the demo on YouTube. It’s pretty slick.

What Comes Next?

Well, now that the demo has been released and people have had a chance to give it a try, I need to know what is good and bad about this project. For a month I will be collecting feedback and eagerly listening to what people have to say on this project. FEEDBACK IS CRUCIAL. Your input on the demo will directly shape what the game will be when it becomes a complete product. Now, I won’t be heavily working on the game itself during this period but instead I will be working on other aspects of the project. Namely, creating contacts with representatives of publishers.

After this feedback period I will get to work addressing any issues that were found in the demo. These are things like bugs and exploits. Once that has been ironed out, changes will be implemented based on your feedback. This is why I said that FEEDBACK IS CRUCIAL earlier. I mean it. I’m not just reading your feedback and doing nothing about it. This period will last a couple of weeks and will polish and fine tune the demo, ready to be pitched to publishers.

Closing Thoughts

I am already seeing feedback coming in. The general consensus seems to be that there is a lack of direction and not much guidance as to where to go. There has been some suggestions to implement a mini-map and objective/waypoint markers in order to know where it is that players must go. The original intention was to have the environment ‘guide‘ the player on where to go next. But, based on feedback I’m pretty sure my environment design sucks…

Just a friendly reminder to people who have already tried the demo, please do leave feedback if you can. The most straight forward way would be to leave a review on the actual store listing. There are other ways to give feedback as well, if you would like to. Your feedback directly contributes to making this project something bigger and better. Till then, keep playing!
